Chris Farmer, MD, MSPH
Dr. Farmer is a native of St. Louis, Missouri. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Missouri-Columbia and attended medical school at the University of Missouri School of Medicine. Dr. Farmer remained in Columbia and completed a residency in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at University of Missouri Hospital and Clinic. Following his residency, Dr. Farmer completed a two year primary care sports medicine fellowship with the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics. He earned a Master of Science and Public Health degree along with his Certificate of Added Qualification in Primary Care Sports Medicine.
Dr. Farmer joined the Columbia Orthopaedic Group in July 2010 after practicing five years in Springfield, Missouri. While in southwest Missouri, he served as a team physician for Missouri State University and the Springfield Cardinals, in addition to his clinical practice. He specializes in sports medicine and non-operative orthopaedic care, including athletes with acute or chronic illness, concussion management and injury prevention. Dr. Farmer also serves as an assistant team physician for the University of Missouri Athletic Department.
Dr. Farmer is a member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Sports Medicine, American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, and American Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. Farmer and his wife, Christi, have three children. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family, woodworking, photography, and working outdoors.
