Dr. Havey is an Illinois native who obtained his B.S. degree in Zoology from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois and then completed two years of graduate studies in physiology and anatomy at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois. He remained in Carbondale for medical school where he attended Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. Following medical school, Dr. Havey completed a one year internship in general surgery along with a four year residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Missouri Health Sciences Center in Columbia, Missouri.
Dr. Havey spent 23 years in the private practice of orthopaedic surgery in Columbia, and was a founding member of Boone Orthopaedic Associates, L.L.C. in 2000. He joined the Columbia Orthopaedic Group in 2005 and specializes in arthroscopy, total joint replacement, arthritis, fractures and endoscopic carpal tunnel surgery.
Dr. Havey is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the National Board of Medical Examiners. He is also a member of numerous professional associations including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American College of Surgeons, American Medical Association, Mid-America Orthopaedic Association, and the Missouri State Orthopaedic Association.
Other individuals working directly with Dr. Havey on his team are orthopaedic assistant, Amy Craighead, and administrative assistant, Debbie Reifsteck.
Dr. Havey and his wife have three children. In his free time he enjoys golfing, skiing and computers.
