Dr. Quinn is a Missouri native who attended the University of York in York, England prior to receiving a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Indiana University. He attended medical school at the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia. Upon finishing medical school, Dr. Quinn completed a two year surgical internship and four year orthopaedic residency at Akron City Hospital in Akron, Ohio. During his residency he also served as chief resident of orthopaedics. His orthopaedic residency was supplemented by a fellowship on internal fixation of fractures at the University of Basel in Basel, Switzerland under the direction of

Dr. Martin Allgower. Upon completing his residencies, Dr. Quinn served for two years in the United States Navy at the United States Naval Hospital in San Diego , California where he oversaw the orthopaedic trauma service.

Dr. Quinn joined Columbia Orthopaedic Group in 1979. He originally had a broad focus in orthropaedic treatment including internal fixation of fractures, but currently focuses on arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder and knee. Dr. Quinn feels that it is an exciting time in this area of orthopaedic medicine and that the advancement in diagnostic capability, especially with the MRI scanner, along with advances in techniques and instruments in arthroscopy, allow less invasive treatment of many problems.

Dr. Quinn is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is a member of several professional organizations including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the National Society of American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Other individuals working directly with Dr. Quinn’s team are Anne Lewis, LPN, Dave Neighbors, Physician's Assistant and administrative assistant, Teri Adkisson.

Among their hobbies and interests, Dr. Quinn and his wife, Sue, enjoy equestrian and aviation related activities including restoring antique airplanes.
