Dr. Oliver is a Colorado native who earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics at the University of Colorado in Boulder. He attended medical school at Finch University of Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School in North Chicago, Illinois. He achieved numerous awards during medical school including an honors ranking in all clinical rotations, being inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and graduating first in his class. Dr. Oliver completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. During this time he was also an assistant team physician for Denver Public Schools.
Dr. Oliver entered private practice in 2001 when he joined Regional Orthopaedic Health Care in Mountain Home, Arkansas. The focus of his practice was general orthopaedics and trauma care. During this time he served as Vice Chief of Staff, Chief of Surgery and earned the “Top Doc Award” at Baxter Regional Medical Center. He now serves as the Medical Director of Orthopaedic Trauma at Boone Hospital Center.
Dr. Oliver joined Columbia Orthopaedic Group in 2006 and he specializes in trauma and extremity fractures. He strives to ensure that every patient that enters his office is fully educated on the nature of their injury as well as the latest treatment available for that injury. He conducts a fracture clinic most mornings Monday through Friday. He feels this is necessary in order to appropriately serve the fracture patient, when urgent attention could mean the difference between a good or bad outcome. Dr. Oliver’s afternoons are spent in the operating room where he utilizes the most up to date and technically efficient fracture care in his dedicated trauma room.
Dr. Oliver is board certified and is a member of multiple professional societies in the medical field. Other individuals working directly on Dr. Oliver’s team are his board certified Physician’s Assistant, Tina, PA-C and clinical/administrative assistant, Jessica, CST.
Dr. Oliver has two children and lives in Columbia, Missouri. In his free time he enjoys maintaining a healthy lifestyle through weight training and daily cardiovascular exercise. He is involved in several research projects, and travels frequently to give lectures to peers from around the country and in Europe. He is on the design team for a trauma nail system and an ankle fracture set, and he frequently serves as a consultant to orthopaedic implant manufacturers.
