The APEX Quality Award has been adopted as one of the most prestigious awards throughout the healthcare industry, with only 104 healthcare facilities nationwide recognized this year. The award represents superiority in the services you provide, quality in the care you deliver, and distinction in the satisfaction of your patients. Over the past 12 months, your center has excelled in all of these areas.

Your staff and all involved should be extremely proud, as this truly represents an exceptional team accomplishment. We hope that you will display your APEX Quality Award proudly in your center, as a constant reminder to both your organization and your patients of the optimal service that you provide.

SPH Analytics is delighted to present you with this APEX Quality Award. We wish you continued success in providing the highest levels of patient satisfaction in the upcoming year.

To the valued patients and their families at Columbia Orthopaedic Group

Each new year always brings changes to insurance plans whether through employers, private insurance, or through the Healthcare Exchange Marketplace, and this year is no different. As has been widely reported in the news, in January several health insurance companies are discontinuing plans managed through the Healthcare Exchange Marketplace. This impacts Columbia Orthopaedic Group (COG) and its patients in significant ways. United Healthcare is discontinuing their Exchange plans completely. The plans through Blue Cross Blue Shield (Pathway or Pathway X) did not invite COG to participate with their plan—we are out of network, and these plans offer no out-of-network benefits for COG. Coventry, now under the ownership of Aetna, will not be selling marketplace plans in Missouri.

At this time, we are unaware of ANY Healthcare Exchange Marketplace plans that will participate with COG.

What you can do:

As always, we encourage you to check eligibility with your insurance plan before scheduling an appointment with one of our physicians. We also encourage you to request insurance referrals from your Primary Care Physician (PCP) if your insurance requires referrals before scheduling an appointment with one of our physicians. Please bring your insurance cards to every appointment, as even minor changes can impact the status of your claim.

We will continue to monitor the various insurance plans and, should this information change, we will post it to this website immediately. It is our great pleasure to serve your orthopaedic needs. Please contact our office with questions about your insurance: 573-443-2402 (ext 290), Rhonda Maydwell.

Insurance Update

In an ongoing effort to inform our patients of insurance changes as we learn them, the following is an insurance plan offered on the Healthcare Exchange in Missouri that Columbia Orthopaedic Group is able to participate with: BCBS Silver Saver Preferred Care Blue PPO (a BCBS of Kansas City product).

As always, we highly encourage consumers to thoroughly investigate all insurance choices before making the choice that works best for their needs.

Columbia Orthopaedic Group does not endorse any insurance plans, but is committed to providing information that may be helpful to our patients.

COG Donates Time to give over 200 physicals to HS Students

More than 200 high school athletes, cheer squad members and band members came to Columbia Orthopaedic Group on Saturday, February 11th for the annual physical day. This is the day that Columbia Orthopaedic Group and PEAK Sport and Spine set aside to do HS physicals good for the 2017-18 season. Physicals are only $20 and all of the money goes back to the booster clubs for the schools that participate.

This year students came from Hickman, Battle, Rock Bridge, Tolton, Hallsville, North Callaway, Harrisburg as well as other schools in the area to receive their physical.

Every year in February COG hold this special day to give back to the students and get them ready for the next season.
