Dr. Farmer is a St. Louis, Missouri native where he selected the University of Missouri in Columbia for his medical education journey for a career in Sports Medicine.
Dr. Farmer completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Missouri in Columbia and stayed with the program from medical school through his fellowship in sports medicine. His passion for his field in medicine led him to also earn his Master of Science and Public Health degree with an additional Certificate of Added Qualification in Primary Care Sports Medicine.
Dr. Farmer joined the Columbia Orthopaedic Group in July 2010 after practicing for five years in Springfield, Missouri. While in southwest Missouri, he served as a team physician for Missouri State University and the Springfield Cardinals, in addition to his clinical practice. He specializes in sports medicine and non-operative orthopaedic care, including athletes with acute or chronic illness, concussion management, and injury prevention.
Dr. Farmer is a member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Sports Medicine, the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, and the American Academy of Family Physicians. His passion for the sports medicine industry has kept him very involved in current research and advances in the field.
Dr. Farmer loves calling Columbia home with his wife, Christi, and his three children. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, woodworking, photography, and working outdoors.
