Dr. Krautmann was born and raised near Jefferson City, Missouri, and is the son of an orthopaedic surgeon. Dr. Krautmann’s father inspired him to pursue medicine. He taught him compassion, empathy, and what it takes to be a great surgeon.
Dr. Krautmann is excited to return home to Mid-Missouri after completing his foot and ankle fellowship in Chicago. He looks forward to raising his growing family with Midwest values. His favorite pastimes include cooking, running, weightlifting, and watching sports. This new chapter is brimming with possibility as he joins the Columbia Orthopaedic Group (COG) team.

Dr. Krautmann attended the University of Notre Dame and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physics while also competing on the rowing team. He earned his medical degree from Wake Forest Medical School, where he met his future wife. Continuing south, Dr. Krautmann completed his orthopaedic surgical residency at Atlanta Medical Center. Here he was responsible for keeping the Georgia Tech Baseball team in peak health as he assisted in their care. During his residency, he developed his foot and ankle surgery talent, which led him to a foot and ankle fellowship at Northwestern Medicine in Chicago, Illinois.
For Dr. Krautmann, returning to Mid-Missouri and joining the COG means returning to his roots. He loves helping patients maintain their mobility to live life to the fullest.
Dr. Krautmann treats a broad range of foot and ankle conditions both operatively and nonoperatively. His area of focus includes trauma, deformity correction, sports, and Achilles tendon pathology.
