Michael Pompliano, MD, is an orthopedic spine surgeon and fellowship-trained in minimally invasive spine surgery. He treats a wide variety of conditions involving the neck and back and has a passion for motion-sparing surgery via artificial disc replacements, minimally invasive spine procedures and complex spinal reconstructions or revisions. His areas of expertise include spinal stenosis, disc herniation, radiculopathy, spondylolisthesis, cervical myelopathy, spinal deformity, scoliosis, and spinal trauma.

Dr. Pompliano is here to help his patients however he can. He is committed to listening to each patient and providing an in-depth explanation of his patients' diagnoses. This includes a thorough discussion of treatment options with individual, patient-specific recommendations. He strongly believes in the power and effectiveness of non-operative treatments such as physical therapy, routine exercise and strength training, yoga, acupuncture, chiropractic care, and pain management injections, with surgical options only recommended if those options fail to provide relief.

As a researcher, Dr. Pompliano has been heavily involved in numerous peer-reviewed publications and national conference presentations. He is always looking for therapies, modalities, or surgical techniques that may improve quality of life for patients with neck and back pain, and works closely with various industry leaders.

Dr. Pompliano attended medical school at St. Louis University. Both he and his wife, a St. Louis native, are excited to return to Missouri for his practice. In his spare time, he enjoys football, golf, and woodworking. Most of all, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three young children.
