Dr. Shannon Yehyawi grew up in Bettendorf, Iowa. Through her medical training in Iowa, she specialized in operative and non-operative care of the hand, wrist, and elbow. Her goal is to help her patients by relieving their pain and allowing them to return to the activities and work they enjoy.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Notre Dame where she also competed as a member of the varsity women's rowing team. She graduated with honors and proceeded to attend medical school at the University of Iowa. In medical school, she was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, which is awarded to students in the top tier of each medical school class. She was also honored as a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Following medical school, Dr. Yehyawi completed her Orthopaedic Surgery residency training at the University of Iowa, which remains one of the top Orthopaedic training programs in the country. After residency, she sought additional specialty training in hand and upper extremity surgery and completed her fellowship at the Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.
