Robotic Knee Replacement

Knee Specialties

A robotic knee replacement has a great deal in common with a traditional knee replacement. The surgeon removes damaged knee tissue and replaces the damaged tissue with an artificial joint. The procedure is assisted by a robotic arm, yet the surgeon maintains total control. The robotic arm functions to assist the surgeon in performing with greater precision.

Greater precision during the surgery can result in shorter recovery times, a more natural feeling post-surgery knee, and better overall results. In some cases, a robotic knee replacement offers better balance in the soft tissues around your knee and better joint alignment.

Robot-assisted surgery techniques have been in practice for years.

Signs and Symptoms

  • Pain persists after less invasive treatments, like anti-inflammatory medications, weight loss through diet and exercise, cortisone shots, physical therapy (PT), or knee braces
  • Deformities in the femur after an injury
  • Complex degeneration
